Ganira Pashayeva: Azerbaijan-Iraq interparliamentary friendship group should be established

Azerbaijan-Iraq interparliamentary friendship group should be established. But Iraq does not initiates anything regarding this issue, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva stated, APA reports.
She said that Iraqi Parliamentâ€™s Turkmen membersâ€™ presence in the friendship group can give an impetus on the development of mutual relations in the level of parliament.
Ms. Pashayeva said Azerbaijan sensitively approaches the issue regarding Iraqi Turkmen adding the necessity of Turkish statesâ€™ supporting Iraqi Turkmen.
â€œThis issue should be carried out in the level of NGOs. Turkmen Organizations of Iraq should expand relations with Diaspora organizations of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Turkmen should function actively in Council of Europe regarding violation of their rights. Turkish and Azerbaijani representatives can support them after it. We debated the other issues with Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan,â€ she said.
Ms. Pashayeva stressed that Azerbaijan can also assist Iraqi Turkmen in education and health sector as well. /APA/
