He stressed that their relations with Moldova is of special importance showing the reason why the country leadership has not reacted to the severe statements sounded against Bucharest.
“I would never like to be in the place of Moldovan President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. Moldova is debating Transnistria problem with Russia and on the one hand it is obliged to come closer to the European Union,” the President underlined.
President Basescu also stressed that he supports respecting Serbia’s rights as a sovereign and independent state in the solution of Kosovo problem.
“If internationally-accepted solution option is found, Romanian will not object to it and but will want its position to be mentioned,” he said.
Mr. Basescu stated that the deepening of the relations with Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is the priority of the next period. He stated that main energy resources of these two former Soviet republics should be taken into consideration. However, the head of the state did not comment on Rompetrol Holding’s having been bought by KazMunayGas of Kazakhstan for €2.7 billion. /APA/
