Parents of Azerbaijani soldier Samir Mammadov, who was captured by Armenian Armed Forces, met with National Security Minister & chief of the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Eldar Mahmudov, the soldier’s uncle Vidadi Mammadov told the APA.
“We told the minister we do not believe that Samir does not want to be repatriated and wants to go to a third country. Therefore, we ask the government to take necessary measures for his repatriation. The minister said they will continue negotiations for Samir’s repatriation,” he said.
The International Committee of the Red Cross office in Azerbaijan sent an official letter to the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons on April 28, which says that Samir Mammadov refused to be repatriated, writing to his parents and wants to be sent to a third country. /APA/
