Workers Union, Defense Committee for Oilmen’ Rights, Azerbaijan Social Forum Public Union’s members participated at the picket in front of the monument “Independent worker†in Nobel Avenue.
The authorized picket started with USSR hymn. Member of Communist Party Telman Nurullayev, chief of Defense Committee for Oilmen Rights Mirvari Gahramanli, writer Hamid Herischi and others delivered speech at the picket. They protested to not having workers day regarding this as violation of their rights. The resolution of the picket was read at the end.
The resolution called for restoring the name of Nobel Avenue as Workers Avenue, 8-hour working day, restoration of May 1 as the solidarity day of workers, repaying deposits and other demands. The 30-minute action was over without any incident. /APA/
