International Democratic Union considered YAP’s (New Azerbaijan party) membership for IDU in Croatia meeting and rejected the application for membership, the deputy head of IDU, ANIP leader Etibar Mammadov told APA. According to the party leader, IDU rejected membership application reasoning it with its unfamiliarity of YAP principles, ruling Azerbaijan party’s failing to fully comply with European values and no representation of YAP.
“According to IDU principles, a party willing to become its member is to request the party which was first got the membership for IDU. YAP applied for the IDU membership earlier but rejected because did not have our party’s permission. IDU rejected YAP application this time as it had not our permission”.
YAP deputy secretary, MP Mubariz Gurbanli said that was not right. According to him YAP did not apply the IDU for membership. “
We have sent a letter to IDU to be informed on the rules of membership for the organization. The letter expressed the wish to familiarize with the terms of membership. If we had applied the organization officially then we would have been invited to the meeting considering our application,” YAP official said. /APA/
