ANIP’s draft resolution on Iranian Azerbaijanis approved by International Democratic Union

Etibar Mammadov, leader of Azerbaijan National Independence party (ANIP) is back from Croatia. Etibar Mamadov told APA he took part in the meeting of International Democratic Union (IDU) in Dubrovnik. Etibar Mammadov said the meeting from April 25 to 27 with participation of 86 centre right parties from more than 70 states worldwide debated South Azerbaijan issue and approved ANIP’s draft resolution on the issue.
Party leader said the resolution composed of 5 items stresses Azerbaijanis’ rights of establishing political and public parties. It also requires rights for researching and studying history, announcement of Azerbaijani language as official minority language, use of Azerbaijani in written and spoken language, protection of cultural heritage and democratic principles.
“I emphasized 30 million Azerbaijanis live in Iran. The participants accepted it with interest and expressed their unawareness of till now. So we need to speed up propagating South Azerbaijan issues”
Etibar Mammadov said Iranian nuclear program and its threat to world security also were topical subjects of the meeting. /APA/
