Council of Europe Office in Azerbaijan announces competition for journalists
All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form, which could be obtained from the Council of Europe Office in Azerbaijan.
All entries must have been originally published/broadcasted by popular media outlets (newspapers, magazines, online media, TVs and radios) from 10 April 2007 to 10 June 2007.
The main editorial office of the media in which the entry was published/broadcasted must be based in Baku or in one of other cities of Azerbaijan.
The participants must submit their articles/TV-radio materials to the Council of Europe Office in Azerbaijan no later than 18:00, 11 June 2007.
The submitted print materials (articles on newspapers/magazines) must be in the already printed versions of the print media outlets (newspaper/magazine).
The submitted online materials must be in the hard copy format of the published material showing the link to the web site of the online media and the screen shot of the web site where the article was published.
The submitted broadcasting (TV or radio) material must be a VHS or CD/VCD/DVD recorded version, clearly indicating the title and time of the programme together with the logo of the TV or Radio company where it was broadcasted. All the broadcasting materials must be on air before the entries sent to the competition.
All produced print and online materials for participation in the competition must have the following writing at the beginning of the article after the byline:This article is produced for presenting to the Council of Europe competition.
At the end of all produced news materials for participation in the competition the news reporter must say the following: This news report is produced for presenting to the Council of Europe competition.
All produced documentary films for participation in the competition must have the following writing at the end of the film befoe the copyright indication: This film is produced for presenting to the Council of Europe competition.
Each contestant may submit up to three articles or news reports and one documentary film.
Entries must be at least 3,800 characters in length, including blanks, 1-2 minutes of news report or 10-20 minutes of a documentary film or an author programme.
Articles/TV-radio materials can be submitted in Azerbaijani, English or Russian languages.
Single articles or a series of articles published in a single issue will be accepted.
Where the entry was a collaborative effort, all major contributors, e.g. researchers, journalists and editors, should be specified with the entry. A team entry may consist of a maximum of five individuals.
Participants should keep copies of all material submitted, as entries will not be returned.
The Council of Europe reserves the right to utilise the contributed material for presentation and media use and to reproduce it for the purpose of promoting the Award and the Council of Europe values and principles.
The decision of the jury is final. The jury reserves the right to reject any entry that does not comply with the requirements of the competition.

To be eligible for this competition, the author must be an active working professional journalist with the minimum journalistic experience of 1 (one) year. /APA/
