Azerbaijani scientist elected dean of Turkeyâ€™s Mersin University

â€œI worked in Karadeniz Technical University in Trabzon for a time.I have been working in literature faculty of Mersin University since 1998. I am department chair and member of the university Senate. My colleagues nominated me for dean and I was elected to this post. On September 16 Higher Education Council asserted my nomination. We have great activities ahead. I believe that together with my colleagues we will make our faculty the leading department of our university. My nomination to this post once more shows that Turkey and Azerbaijan are indeed two states of once nation. Our Azerbaijani colleagues can be elected to any post in Turkey â€“ of course if they deserve it. I call on Azerbaijani scientists to come to Turkey, letâ€™s us open second wave together. You know that over 30 universities have been established in Turkey recently. Therefore there is a need for a great scientific potential,â€ he said.

Professor said he watched four TV channels of Azerbaijan every day and was aware of the rapid development of the country.
â€œOur country will reach the level it deserves. Karabakh conflict should be solved, because this is a knife struck into our hearts. I believe that the problem will be solved soon,â€ he said.

Fakhraddin Abdullayev was born in Shamakhy in 1957. He graduated from the faculty of physics and mathematics of Baku State University. In 1986 he defended dissertation in Ukraine and received doctorâ€™s degree in 2003.
