Tbilisi. Turan Huseynova-APA. Marneuli radio, which is aired in Georgia in the territories compactly-settled by Azerbaijanis, will restart in two weeks, technical director of Marneuli radio Emin Ahmadov told APA. He said that the radio had no frequency and aired with loudspeaker equipment. The radio is on air two hours a day with the help of the loudspeaker equipment installed in the central park of the city. The radio broadcasts news in the Azerbaijani, Russian and Georgian languages. At present the radio is aired only through the internet. Emin Ahmadov said the radio faced bureaucratic problems in getting special frequency.
“They do not refuse to give license to our radio, there are only some bureaucratic obstacles. Heads of the project are holding talks at present. The process is also under the control of the Council of Europe,” he said.
Marneuli radio was established on the joint project of BBC and Studio Re two years ago.
It is the community project and the radio is aired in the territories compactly-settled by Azerbaijanis – center of Marneuli and the villages situated in 7km. The radio has seven employees.
