"We had discussions on recycling construction waste into products and its use in construction in the liberated territories," Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme Inger Andersen said in a joint briefing with President-designate of COP29, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev, APA reports.
"Works are currently ongoing in this direction. As well as,work is underway on a project regarding the early warning system in Azerbaijan. Today, we once again confirmed our intentions, and implementation will proceed in the coming period," Minister stated.
Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme Inger Andersen noted that Azerbaijan does great work in the direction of combating climate change.
"The initiative of Azerbaijan, its hosting of COP29 is a very courageous step. I am aware of the scope of the work done and I am a witness myself," she added.
