On May 25, 2025, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) introduced temporary flight restrictions at Vnukovo Airport starting from 01:17 a.m. Moscow time, APA reports citing TASS.
These measures were taken following reports of drones approaching the capital.
Earlier, similar restrictions had been imposed and subsequently lifted at Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo airports.
The drone incursions have led to significant disruptions in air travel, with over 700 drones reportedly intercepted across Russia in a three-day period, including nearly 100 near Moscow. These attacks have prompted authorities to deploy electronic-warfare systems and jam mobile signals in affected regions.
While some restrictions have been lifted, the situation remains fluid, and further disruptions are possible depending on the security landscape.
