Baku – APA. Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier criticized the international exercise Saber Strike held in the Baltic States, and called for dialogue and cooperation with Russia, reports Reuters.
Steinmeier in an interview with Bild am Sonntag said: “What we shouldn’t do is aggravate the situation with a loud saber-rattling and war cries. Who thinks that the symbolic tank parades on the Eastern border of the Alliance strengthen security, he is mistaken”.
The head of the German foreign Ministry believes that it is necessary “to involve Russia in the international partnership responsibility”, and along with the willingness to defend Europe must demonstrate a willingness to dialogue.
Exercise Saber Strike holds the command of the land forces of the USA in Europe. In them take part about 10 thousand military personnel from 13 NATO countries and partner countries: Estonia, Denmark, UK, USA, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Luxembourg, Norway, France, Slovenia, Finland and Germany. Participating entities are distributed across the three Baltic countries.
