Local Afghan officials said on Tuesday that the incident took place in Sayed Abad District of Maidan Wardak Province on Monday afternoon.
Hayatullah Hayat, the provincial governor of Maidan Wardak, noted that the deadly attack also wounded two other members of the family.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
