A new war targeting Iran will bring no benefit to anyone; on the contrary, the region will lose, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan while answering journalists’ questions aboard the plane on his return from Ethiopia, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
He said that Türkiye maintains a position that creates the groundwork for peace.
Erdoğan noted that Türkiye wants the existing problems between Iran and the United States to be resolved through dialogue and that contacts at the highest level with both countries are ongoing. He recalled that he had held talks with the presidents of Iran and the United States in this context.
The Turkish leader added that Ankara has conveyed to all parties that it opposes military intervention against Iran. According to him, military escalation and increasing pressure could drag the region into greater uncertainty.
