Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a security advisory to its citizens in Iran, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
The ministry stated that the current security situation in Iran is sensitive and called on citizens to exercise caution.
The statement recommended postponing planned trips to Iran except in cases of necessity.
In addition, the Disinformation Combat Center of the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidential Administration responded to claims about a refugee influx from Iran to Türkiye. The center said that the time and location of the circulated footage alleging illegal crossings from the Iranian border into Türkiye are unknown, that the video is old, and that it has been deliberately recirculated.
“There is no concrete information to this effect. Such posts aim to target border security and create negative public opinion. Türkiye’s border security is ensured without interruption,” the statement said.
