Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization has detained two individuals identified as being linked to Israel’s Mossad, APA reports, citing TRT Haber.
An operation was carried out against Mehmet Budak Derya and Veysel Kerimoğlu, who were determined to have been working for Israeli intelligence, within the framework of the “Monitum operation,” and they were taken into custody.
It is reported that Mehmet Budak Derya, a mining engineer, established contact with Israeli intelligence in 2013 through marble trading activities and later held several covert meetings in various countries over the following years.
Under the direction of Israeli intelligence, Derya subsequently involved Veysel Kerimoğlu in the activities as well.
Both individuals regularly transmitted the information they collected to the Israeli side. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
