A Turkish Airlines plane made an emergency landing in India, APA reports, citing Turkish media.
The plane took off from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and shortly after, a technical problem occurred in one of the engines, and a fire report was filed.
The fire was brought under control.
The plane waited in the air with only one engine for a safety inspection.
As a result of the inspection, it was concluded that it would be risky for the plane to fly to Türkiye, and it was diverted to Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, India.
All 236 passengers and 11 crew members on board were safely evacuated.
