Trump discusses Iran and Taiwan with Chinese leader-UPDATED

US President Donald Trump said on his "Truth Social" account that his phone conversation with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping was long and detailed, APA reports.

He noted that during the phone conversation, the current situation around Iran, the Russia-Ukraine war, trade and military issues, as well as the issue of Taiwan were discussed.

The US President highly appreciated the discussions with the Chinese leader and stressed that he was looking forward to visiting China in April.

"The relationship with China and my personal relationship with Xi Jinping are extremely good, and we both understand how important it is to maintain it. I believe that during the next three years of my Presidency, many positive results will be achieved with Xi Jinping and the People's Republic of China," Trump noted.

Chinese President Xi Jinping held a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, APA reports, citing the Xinhua news agency.

Note that the Chinese leader also held a video conference meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin today.
