Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that Türkiye will continue to play a special role in resolving the Ukraine crisis, APA reports, citing the Kremlin.
He expressed his desire regarding this during his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The statement notes that Putin thanked Türkiye for its significant contribution to the political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
“Since May 2025, three rounds of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine have already been held on the Istanbul platform, which has led to progress in resolving a number of practical humanitarian issues,” he said.
He added that Türkiye’s special role in these matters will continue to be needed in the future.
