India has saved at least $12.6 billion in 39 months thanks to discounted oil imports from Russia, APA reports, citing The Indian Express.
The report notes that although the savings have helped Indian oil refineries, the discounts have significantly decreased in 2024-25. In addition, Russian oil has also helped to stabilize global oil prices, and other importers have also benefited from this.
It should be noted that discounted oil imports from Russia are currently a source of tension between the Trump administration and India. The US is demanding that India reduce energy ties with Moscow.
