In response to US President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf issued a firm warning to Washington, emphasizing that all options remain on the table, APA reports, citing Tasnim.
In comments at a meeting with economic activists, members of the Guild Chamber, and a group of merchants, held in Tehran on Wednesday, Ghalibaf said Iran is ready for both dignified diplomacy and a defensive response that would make any aggressor regret their actions.
He underscored that if the US chooses a path of diplomacy that respects Iran’s national dignity and mutual interests, Tehran would engage constructively at the negotiating table.
“If Washington decides on military action during negotiations, it will face a decisive and strong response from our forces,” he said in remarks aired by state television, adding that Iran has never sought nuclear weapons and will not do so.
