The freight capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway will be increased to 17 million tons by 2034, Turhan Dilmaç, Head of Department at the Strategic Research Center of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during his speech at the 13th Meeting of the Think Tank Forum of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in the “Strengthening Eurasian Connectivity” session, APA reports.
Speaking about the Middle Corridor, Dilmaç emphasized that this corridor will contribute to the development of trade between Europe and China, and that Türkiye will play an important role in this process.
He added that Türkiye will further strengthen its relations with Azerbaijan and Central Asia to enhance the potential of the Middle Corridor.
