Iran is still receiving negotiation proposals from Washington, Ali Shamkhani, adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said in an interview with Al Mayadeen TV, APA reports.

According to him, there is an opportunity to avoid war.

“The Islamic Republic is ready to hold talks on the nuclear dossier only with the United States, because Europe has proven itself to be an unreliable party in the negotiations,” Shamkhani said.

The adviser to Khamenei also touched upon the issue of a meeting between Iranian and US delegations to be held in Istanbul on February 6.

Shamkhani noted that there is a possibility of holding direct and indirect meetings with the United States if the parties “sit at the negotiating table in a fair manner and abandon illogical, unfounded conditions and instructions.”

Shamkhani also spoke about the fate of Iran’s nuclear stockpiles. He stressed that their status remains unclear after the airstrikes: “The volume of enriched uranium stockpiles is still unknown, as the reserves are buried under the rubble. Due to the high risk involved, no initiative has yet been taken to retrieve them. In this regard, talks are being held with the International Atomic Energy Agency on the possibility of accessing the stockpiles and assessing their quantity, provided that security is ensured and any risks are prevented.”
