Any military aggression by the United States against Iran will not be limited to a war between the two countries but will escalate into a large-scale regional conflict, said Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, APA reports, citing the Tasnim news agency.
The agency quoted him as saying: “Americans should know that if they start a war, this time it will be a war on a regional scale.”
He added that the Iranian people should not be intimidated by statements from US President Donald Trump about sending large quantities of weapons to the Middle East. “We do not start wars and we have no intention of attacking any country. However, anyone who attacks Iran and causes harm will receive a harsh response from the Iranian people,” the Iranian leader emphasized.
It should be noted that on January 26, President Trump stated that “a massive armada” was moving toward Iran. He said he hoped Tehran would sit down at the negotiating table and sign a “fair and equitable” agreement that would involve the complete abandonment of nuclear weapons. The US leader recalled that in June last year, the United States carried out strikes on nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in an operation dubbed “Midnight Hammer.” Trump warned that “the next strike will be even harsher” and called for “preventing it from happening.”
