Iran’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed the abduction of former cultural attaché Amir Mousavi in Egypt, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, APA reports.
Baghaei noted that Amir Mousavi, who entered the country with an Iraqi passport, was kidnapped in Egypt: “This morning we received the news of Amir Mousavi’s disappearance in Egypt. He is not currently a diplomat. He previously served as a cultural attaché. According to the information we have, Mousavi entered Egypt with an Iraqi passport. We will continue to follow this matter through diplomatic channels, as it is our duty to protect the rights of our citizens.”
