The fight against forest fires continues in the Sakarya, Bilecik, Eskişehir, Izmir, and Karabük regions of Türkiye, APA reports citing Turkish media.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli said that the fires in Bilecik, Karabük, and Eskişehir have been largely brought under control.
The minister warned that "the fire risk for Türkiye as a whole is very high."
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that 23 people had been arrested in connection with 61 forest fires that broke out between July 4 and 22.
