Türkiye is ready to assume the role of mediator in resolving differences between Iran and the United States and intends to continue its contacts in this direction, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with the Saudi Arabian newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat", APA reports.
"We confirm that we are ready to play the role of mediator between Iran and the United States to reduce tensions and resolve problems, and we will continue our contacts in this direction," Erdogan said.
He added that Türkiye has expressed its opposition to any military steps against Iran on all platforms.
Speaking about diplomatic efforts, the Turkish President noted that Ankara is acting in coordination with its partners in the region.
"Our contacts with friendly countries, including Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, continue. We do not approach this issue with the logic of blocs or alliances," Erdogan stressed.
