Egypt is making efforts to bring Iran and the United States back to the negotiating table, as it is convinced of the need for a diplomatic solution, said Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated this during a conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, APA reports.
"Egypt is deeply concerned about the new round of escalation in the region and believes a diplomatic solution to any dispute is the only and best option. Cairo is tirelessly working to bring Iran and the United States back to the negotiating table," his spokesman, Mohammed al-Shinawi, quoted el-Sisi as saying on Facebook. In a conversation with Pezeshkian, the Egyptian leader also emphasized his belief that a peaceful resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue "will strengthen stability in the regional and international arenas."
