China does not plan to join nuclear talks at this stage, said Lin Jian, the spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, at a briefing, APA reports.
"China's nuclear potential is on a completely different scale from that of the United States and Russia. China will not participate in negotiations on denuclearization at this stage," the Foreign Ministry official said.
It should be noted that the START agreement (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) between Russia and the United States has expired. Thus, for the first time since 1972, there is no law limiting the number of strategic nuclear weapons of the two countries.
