Indian criminal Mayank Singh, known as Sunil Mina, who was arrested in Azerbaijan in October last year, will be extradited to India on August 23, APA reports, citing Indian media.
According to the report, India’s Anti-Terrorism Squad presented credible evidence of Mayank Singh’s criminal activities to Azerbaijan through Interpol, which contributed to the decision on his extradition.
India’s most wanted criminal from the state of Jharkhand committed high-profile crimes in the states of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana before fleeing the country.
Even after fleeing the country, Mayank Singh continued to threaten businessmen through internet calls, demanding money from them. He was very active on social media and used to share pictures of himself with firearms on Facebook.
Anurag Gupta, Chief of the Home Department of Jharkhand, said that this is a major success for the police forces.
