Transitional negotiations with Israel unacceptable â€“ PLO

Baku-APA. The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) said Saturday that it rejected any transitional negotiations with Israel, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

"We completely reject any temporary or long-term transitional solutions that Israel promotes," said Ahmed Majdalani, a member of the organization’s Executive Committee.

Majdalani was commenting on remarks by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon, who said an agreement between the two sides on key issues was difficult to reach, instead, Ayalon suggested a provisional solution, according to Israel Radio.

However, Majdalani said the temporary solutions "are unacceptable at all," adding the Israeli government’s agenda focused on building Jewish settlements "and the occupation, rather than having a peace program."

The Palestinians suspended peace talks with Israel when it allowed a partial moratorium on West Bank settlement construction to expire.
