Baku-APA. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday the upcoming talks with the five permanent members of UN Security Council plus Germany (G5+1) will be "fruitful" if they are held in the atmosphere of "cooperation”, APA reports quoting the local satellite Press TV.

Mehmanparast said that negotiations could yield fruitful results in an atmosphere of cooperation rather than confrontation, according to the report.

Tehran welcomes fair and purposeful talks with the West over its nuclear program that respect the Iranian nation’s rights, said the spokesman at his weekly press conference.

Western countries have called on Tehran to halt its sensitive nuclear program but Iran has ruled out the appeal and insisted that its nuclear activities are at civilian purposes.

On Sunday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the Iranian nation would not withdraw an iota from its nuclear rights, and the West has no option but to talk with Iran over its nuclear program.

Dialogues between Iran and the six world powers over Iran’s controversial nuclear program was halted last October.

EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton on Thursday suggested a new round of talks with Iran in November in Vienna, capital of Austria.
