Baku-APA. Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said Tuesday that the third generation of Fateh missiles has been delivered to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

In a ceremony, Vahidi briefed on the new domestically-built medium-range ballistic missile dubbed Fateh-110, the report said.

He said that the developments and achievements in the country’s defense technology indicate that threats and sanctions have been ineffective and have only strengthened the Iranian nation’s resolve.

The 9-meter long and 3,500-kilogram Fateh-110 missile has a quicker launch time compared to previous versions and has been successfully test-fired, according to the report.

The single stage solid propellant missile has high precision and good controllability. The ultrasonic feature of the weapon enables it to evade anti-missile systems, said Press TV.

The Iranian defense minister also announced that a new and high- tech version of Fateh-110 would be test-fired in the near future.

Iran says its military capabilities are aimed at defensive purposes.
