Smithsonian Institution specialists conduct workshops for Azerbaijani museum experts

Baku. Anakhanum Hidoyatova- APA. The Smithsonian Institution specialists conduct workshops for Azerbaijani museum experts, APA reports.
The workshops are conducted with over 120 Azerbaijani museum experts on April 22 – 30. In the frames of the workshops several topics were discussed including creating interactive exhibits and using social media for museum programming. Moreover, Smithsonian Institution specialists are planning to held workshops in Nakhchivan. On April 30, the US specialists will hold a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Tourism and Culture Abulfas Garayev. As Dr. Paul Michael Taylor, Director of the Asian Cultural History Program and Curator of Asian said: “Azerbaijan’s history is incredibly important, both for the region and the world as a whole. It is wonderful to be able to learn about that history from the skilled experts who we met on this trip, and to share ideas for future research and collaboration.â€
The workshop is organized by financial support of US Embassy in Baku and Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Azerbaijan. US Embassy Cultural Affairs Officer emphasized that he looks forward to implementing many similar projects in the future.
Yesterday, in The Museum Center of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani specialists received certificates of completion of the workshops.
