China and the United States should be partners rather than rivals, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a written statement during his state visit to the United States, APA reports.
“The two countries should be partners, not rivals,” the Chinese leader said.
According to Xi, the two sides should move toward each other and build a stable relationship in which cooperation prevails, competition is kept within reasonable bounds, differences are managed, and the prospect of peace is preserved.
Xi noted that the historical logic of peaceful coexistence between China and the United States has not changed, adding that the international community also expects stable relations between the two countries.
