The United States has stopped funding the conflict in Ukraine following a decision by President Donald Trump, said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, APA reports.
"President Trump has stopped funding this war, but the United States continues to sell large quantities of weapons to NATO. We can't do this forever. The President wants this war to end," the press secretary said.
Leavitt also spoke about the "very productive negotiations" between Trump's national security team and the Ukrainian delegation, specifically the meeting between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in Geneva. They were able to "thoroughly work through" the 28-point peace plan, and "only a couple of points of disagreement remain," she noted. According to Leavitt, Trump " remains hopeful and optimistic about the possibility of a deal."
