US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has refused to meet with Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, APA reports, citing a Politico article.
According to the publication, Kallas has been “virtually sidelined” due to her complicated relationship with the Trump administration. “Even Marco Rubio, the administration’s most Europe-leaning official, is refusing bilateral meetings with Kallas,” the article states.
A source speaking to Politico said that “behind the scenes, Kallas plays the role of the ‘bad cop’ for European countries.”
