The United States is attempting to find a new approach to resolving territorial issues in talks with Ukrainian representatives, APA reports citing Axios.
According to them, three days of talks between US Presidential Envoy Steven Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law, entrepreneur Jared Kushner, with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Ignatov and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov concluded on December 6 with a phone call with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The conversation lasted two hours, during which the parties focused on territorial issues and possible security guarantees for Ukraine.
According to one of the portal's sources, the discussion on territorial issues "was difficult." According to Axios, US representatives are "trying to develop new ideas to overcome" the differences. On the issue of security guarantees for Kyiv, "the parties have made significant progress and are closer to an agreement," but "additional work remains to ensure that both sides interpret the draft" agreements in the same way.
