"Security environment has changed in the European continent," said Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby at the online briefing held for journalists, APA reports.
He noted that the US is committed to protecting the security of NATO allies in Europe: "There are currently more than 100,000 military servicemen of the US on the European continent. These forces will be on the continent for a short and long time. We do not rule out the possibility of sending additional forces to Europe if necessary. We are in constant contact with our colleagues in Europe, and as I said, taking into consideration changing the security environment in the European continent, we are discussing the role that the United States will play in the security of the European continent in the future".
