US President Donald Trump has discussed the possibility of a bilateral meeting with Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, The New York Times (NYT) writes, citing sources, APA reports.
According to the report, a telephone conversation took place between Trump and Maduro last week in the presence of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
During the conversation, the possibility of organizing a meeting between the two leaders in the United States was raised, but there are currently no plans for such a meeting.
The White House press service declined to comment on the news.
