The US wants Russia and Ukraine to reach a peace agreement by the end of this year, informed sources told CNN, APA reports.
According to the report, US President Donald Trump has made resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict a priority for himself shortly after mediating the ceasefire in Gaza.
"The Trump administration has considered countries that played a role in mediating the Gaza ceasefire, including Qatar and Türkiye, to play a diplomatic role in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The US wants them to play a more active diplomatic role, but behind the scenes," the sources noted.
