United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated on Monday after bilateral US-India negotiations that America is appealing to all countries not to buy weapons from Moscow, adding that the potential sanctions on India due to its purchasing of Russian S-400 missile systems are yet to be decided on, APA reports citing TeleTrader.

"We continue to urge all countries to avoid major new deals to acquire Russian weapons systems, especially in light of what Russia is doing regarding Ukraine," Blinken underlined.

Commenting on the possibility of Washington becoming New Delhi's preferred international ally rather than the now influential Moscow, Blinken noted: "Today, we may want to be India's partner of choice in almost every area: trade, technology, education, and security. And that was the dialogue that we had today."
