At least 300 arrested in New York protest actions

Baku – APA. At least 300 people were arrested during the Occupy Wall Street protest actions. One man was taken into custody for throwing liquid, possibly vinegar, into the faces of several police officers, authorities said. Many demonstrators were carrying vinegar as an antidote for pepper spray. 7 police officers and 10 civilians were injured during the clashes. Chanting "All day, all week, shut down Wall Street," more than 1,000 protesters gathered near the New York Stock Exchange and sat down in several intersections. November17th was declared as an International Day of Action. The protest actions against social and economic injustice began two months ago, On September 17th. Some hundreds of people were arrested during the protest actions throughout the country. The actions were held in Los Angeles, Washington, Philadelphia, Chicago, Seattle and other cities.
