Baku-APA. Protesters are shouting out slogans demanding to provide them with jobs. Authorities have strengthened military patrols near all administrative buildings in the city, APA reports quoting Sputnik.

Earlier in the day, protesters occupied an administration building in the city, with some of the protesters threatening to set themselves on fire if Kasserine Governor Atef Boughatas does not host a meeting with them.

Demonstrations in Tunisia began late last week after the death of an unemployed university graduate in Kasserine, who committed a suicide after he found out that his name had been removed from a list of those to be hired for public sector jobs.

Media reports estimate that the overall level of unemployment in Tunisia at the end of 2015 was 15.3 percent, while the Kasserine has the highest regional unemployment of 30 percent. One-in-three people who find themselves unemployed in Tunisia are university graduates.
