Russia’s presidential spokesman Ateny Wek told Reuters that the plane may have had about 20 people on board including crew, and an unknown number of people were killed on the ground, APA reported citing news.com.au.
The plane crashed onto a small island in the White Nile river, close to Juba airport.
A police officer said at least 41 people have lost their lives in the crash. At least two people, including a child, survived the crash.
The Russian Embassy has confirmed the loss of their aircraft AN-12.
