Statement by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs

The Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group (Ambassadors Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, James Warlick of the United States of America, and Pierre Andrieu of France) noted that they are deeply concerned that there has been no humanitarian access to the crash site of the military helicopter. “The wreckage of the helicopter lies in a heavily mined area of neutral territory on the Line of Contact.”

The area called “heavily mined area of neutral territory on the Line of Contact” by the co-chairs is internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan which is under occupation of Armenian Armed Forces.

On November 12, the Mi-24 helicopter of the Armenian Armed Forces attacked the Azerbaijani positions. The enemy helicopter was shot down with return fire.
