Baku-APA. Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister Ziad Bahaa Eldin said here Saturday that the Egyptian people " appreciate and value the historic and honorable stance" of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) toward his country, APA reports quoting XInhua.
Bahaa Eldin is a member of the delegation on a three-day visit to the UAE led by Egyptian Prime Minister Hazem Al-Beblawi.
On the first day of the visit, Bahaa Eldin said his gratitude for the UAE stemmed from its support for Egypt's June 30 popular protests, which led to the ouster of then President Mohammed Morsi.
The ex-leader was considered to have failed to deliver his promise to boost Egypt's economy and improve the people's livelihood during his one year in office.
The Egyptian official also lauded the UAE's support for his government's economic program designed to improve the living conditions in Egypt.
After Morsi was removed from power, the UAE pledged to Egypt a total of 3 billion U.S. dollars as part of a 12 billion dollar aid package granted by the Gulf Arab states.
On Sept. 3, the UAE transferred an additional 2 billion dollars to Egypt.
