Baku-APA. A passenger bus on Saturday skidded off a bridge and plunged into river in Tanahu district, some 150 km west of Kathmandu, killing at least 9 and wounding 14 more, police said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Among the dead are 6 males, 2 females and 1 child, but their proper identity has not been known yet.
"We are involved in the rescue operations. Details are still coming in," Hari Gharti Magar, a duty in-charge in the District Police Office, Tanahu told Xinhua.
The high-speed highway bus plated 'Na 4 Kha 4684' hit the bars on the bridge, as two children tried to cross the road and the bus consequently had to put a break, all of sudden.
The bus was carrying around 35 passengers, of which 10 were rescued successfully by the security personnel and the locals. They were rushed to the nearby local hospitals for treatment.
