Baku-APA. At least four security officers were injured in Puntland State of northeast Somalia on Tuesday after a landmine hit their vehicle, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Colonel Abdirisak Diriye Farah, commander for Puntland State said the explosion extensively destroyed the security officers' vehicle at Gal-gala Mountains in Bari region.
Farah told reporters that the explosion targeted two vehicles from Gal-gala Mountains which were heading towards the coastal town of Bosaso.
"Four of our security forces were injured in a landmine blast near army base in Gal-gala Mountains in Bari region. The vehicles were extensively damaged and the soldiers are hospitalized at the moment," he said.
Al-Shabaab militants claimed responsibility for the latest attack. The security forces said they are in pursuit of those behind the attack. Enditem
