As the rain poured down, 432 people were rescued from drowning while they were in very serious situations, he said, adding that 94 of them were rescued by military helicopters.
The volume of rainfall across the Southeast regions of Morocco was exceptional by any standards, he said.
Such heavy rainfall is very rare in the semi-desert region.
